Medical journals proverbial more than 50 years ago speculated on the span between deep vein thrombosis and air travel. In fact flying is not the main cause of this nasty health problem research has shown that it is extended periods of immobility that cause deep vein thrombosis. What the understandable may not know, seeing the media has not experimental fitting to give it the same coverage, is that passengers are at just the same level of developing deep vein thrombosis if they undertake a long journey by car, train or bus.
